Frequently Asked Questions
What is IntimaMente Somatic Coaching?
IntimaMente Somatic Coaching is a holistic, body-centered approach to exploring intimacy, relationships, and sexuality. The word "somatic" comes from the Greek word soma, meaning "body," and this method focuses on the connection between your mind, body, and heart (emotions).
In our work together, we go beyond just talking—we'll tap into the wisdom of your body through guided practices, movement, breathwork, and mindfulness. This helps you feel more connected to yourself, your desires, and your relationships.
Whether you're healing from past experiences, navigating new ways of relating, or exploring your pleasure, IntimaMente Somatica Coaching is a safe, supportive space for you to discover what feels true, authentic, and alive in your body and life.
Think of it as a journey of curiosity, connection, and empowerment—rooted in the belief that healing and joy are possible for everyone.
What happens in a sex coaching session? Does it involve actual sex?
First and foremost, it’s important to know that sex coaching does not involve sex. Practitioners, including myself, always remain clothed, and there is no genital touch involved in sessions. Our mutual safety, comfort, and consent are central to this work, and clear boundaries are always respected.
That said, sex coaching is often experiential, meaning we may engage in hands-on practices within appropriate and legal boundaries. For example, I can guide you in exploring different types of touch, techniques to build arousal, or ways to express passion through the body. These practices are designed to help you learn physical skills in real-time, with immediate feedback—something that’s crucial for meaningful and lasting growth.
The focus is always on helping you connect with your desires, expand your understanding of intimacy, and build the skills to experience greater pleasure and connection in your relationships. Any practices we engage in will be tailored to your comfort level and aligned with your goals.
How does this work?
Think of our time together as a relationship lab—a safe, exploratory space where you can uncover insights, practice new skills, and grow in the ways that matter most to you.
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know one another and building a strong foundation for our coaching relationship. This is where we define your goals and map out a journey that feels aligned with your needs and desires.
In the sessions that follow, we’ll dive deeper. Together, we’ll explore your desires and practice the skills we’ve identified as essential for your growth—whether that’s communicating more openly, reclaiming pleasure, or navigating a new way of relating. If new areas of growth emerge along the way, we’ll add them to our roadmap, ensuring the process stays flexible and tailored to you.
Our work continues until you feel you’ve arrived at the place you want to be. When you feel grounded, empowered, and ready to carry this into your life, our journey together comes to its natural conclusion.
Every step of the way, I’m here to support, guide, and cheer you on. This is your journey, and I’m honored to walk it with you.
What is the difference between a sex coach and a sex therapist?
While both sex coaches and sex therapists support people in exploring and improving their sexual lives, their approaches and focuses are quite different.
A sex therapist is a licensed mental health professional trained to diagnose and treat psychological, emotional, or relational challenges related to sexuality. Therapy often delves into past experiences, trauma, and mental health conditions to provide insight and healing. It’s more about exploring the “why” behind certain patterns or issues.
A sex coach, on the other hand, focuses on the here and now. As a sex coach, I help you build practical skills, connect with your body, and achieve specific goals related to intimacy, pleasure, and relationships. Coaching is action-oriented and experiential—it’s about moving forward, practicing new tools, and building confidence in real-time.
In short, therapy often focuses on understanding and healing the past, while coaching is about taking steps toward a more fulfilling and empowered future. If you’re unsure which path is right for you, we can explore your needs together and find the best fit.
Are online sessions as effective as in person sessions?
Yes! Most of the exercises I use in my practice can be be done just as effectively from the comfort of your home while meeting on Google Meet. What matters is that you and maybe are in a space that feels safe and offers you privacy. Some exercises that involve physical proximity have been slightly modified for online sessions.
How many sessions will I have to go through to see results?
Mine is an experiential practice so results will happen quickly. Yet, every person is different. You may need just one session, a few sessions or many sessions. There's no right of wrong here. There's only what makes you feel good and what works for you. When you feel you've received all you need, graduate yourself!
